Mission Statement

The Hong Kong Association for External Exchange is dedicated to fostering international friendship through Hong Kong's role as a global connector. The Association promotes people-to-people diplomacy, cultural and economic cooperation, and social exchange through delegations, forums, and commemorative events. The Association supports China's peaceful development and encourages cooperation in science, environmental protection, and talent exchange. Furthermore, the Association advocates for poverty alleviation efforts, providing educational and employment opportunities for disadvantaged groups and promoting the integration of ethnic minority communities. Through promoting dialogue and mutual understanding, the Association aims to contribute to lasting world peace and shared prosperity.



Association Objectives

  1. As a non-governmental organization, the Hong Kong Association for International Exchange is committed to building and deepening friendships with the international community, laying and expanding a solid foundation for friendly relations between China and other countries, and playing the unique role of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as a "super-connector".
  2. To enhance people-to-people friendship and promote international cooperation that is conducive to maintaining world peace and promoting common development.
  3. We will implement China's independent foreign policy of peace, carry out comprehensive, multi-level and multi-field people-to-people diplomacy and friendship work, serve China's great cause of peaceful development and national reunification, and build a harmonious world of lasting peace and common prosperity.
  4. Organizing reciprocal delegations, holding commemorative events, initiating and hosting seminars, lectures, forums and other exchange activities, and promoting people-to-people friendly exchanges between Hong Kong, the Mainland and other countries and regions around the world, in order to deepen mutual understanding, build mutual trust and develop friendship.
  5. Establish liaison and cooperation platforms to promote pragmatic cooperation in the fields of economy, environmental protection, science and technology and talent, promote international cooperation, and create favorable conditions for achieving mutual benefit and win-win results and common development.
  6. Promote cultural exchanges, send or receive cultural groups or individuals for friendly visits, promote mutual learning and exchange in the cultural field, deepen understanding and friendship, and carry out people-to-people cultural exchanges.
  7. To promote the establishment and development of friendly relations between the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and other countries and regions, and to advance exchanges and cooperation among them.
  8. Participate in people-to-people exchange activities with other international non-governmental organizations.
  9. By providing education, training, and employment opportunities, we support children and teenagers from impoverished families and those living in subdivided flats, thereby alleviating poverty.
  10. To promote the integration and development of local ethnic minority communities in education, culture and friendship building, and thereby advance friendly relations with other countries.
